Welcome to my Web site! Thank you for visiting. I'm Stuart R. Norman, Jr., Attorney-At-Law, currently in my 30th year of practicing estate law and real estate law in the state of Connecticut.
REAL ESTATE LAW: I've practiced real-estate law in Connecticut since 1974, handling both commercial and residential closings. I do my own title searches for clients. I work with four title insurance companies, Connecticut Attorneys Title, First American, Chicago and TICOR. I handle the closings for most banks in eastern Connecticut as well as a large number of mortgage companies. My three decades of experience in real estate law have provided me with extensive contacts among real estate and insurance agents, and given me the ability to get approved for most mortgage companies. The location of my office is geographically ideal for closings in both New London and Windham Counties. My main office at 19 Slater Street in Jewett City is in the town of Griswold. Being situated at the northernmost edge of New London County, approximately half the closings I handle involve properties in neighboring Windham County. My wife, attorney Gail Rooke Norman, has her own law office on Academy Street in Danielson, and that location is also available to me for closings if it proves more convenient for my clients. I can also help clients form corporations, partnerships and limited liability corporations (LLCs).
ESTATE LAW: I've practiced in the area of estate law since 1974, working with individuals and families. I help my clients by providing solutions designed with their situation in mind and tailored to their individual needs.
My areas of practice include:
Wills Standard wills, as well as living wills and power-of-attorney documents.
Probate I have one full time secretary dedicated to work in probate law, and together we handle everything from probate advice to full probates.
Title 19 If you foresee entering a Title 19 program, it is important to start planning early — especially now that Connecticut is passing a number of laws to restrict or recapture Title 19 gifted assets. On the other hand, it is never too late to begin planning, even for couples where one spouse is already in a convalescent home. My staff and I will explain "spending down" and how the process can work for you. And we'll walk you through the entire Title 19 process and guide you every step of the way. Please browse the rest of this site to learn more about my staff and my practice, then call for a free initial consultation. I look forward to adding your name to my long list of satisfied clients!
